Our Story
Thank you for visiting our Story page, because at Happy Mommy Wines our customers are a big part of why we are here, and where we are headed.
Happy Mommy Wines was founded by Dana Volk, a single working Californian mom of two kids. Dana has been making wines along California’s Central Coast since 1996.
In 2011, while working in Santa Barbara County (Bridlewood, Byron), Dana conceptualized her own brand, Dana V. Wines. Later, the sale of her wedding ring following a divorce financed her first purchase of fine wine grapes for her inaugural collection; an eponymous portfolio of vineyard-designated wines, hand-made by Dana and her team in the Santa Ynez Valley.
At wine events around the country, Dana met many similarly hard-working women with equally discerning tastes and interests. Like her, they care about where their food and beverages come from, they enjoy the finer things in life, and they adhere to household budgets, with either familial needs or personal bills to consider. These women inspired the creation of Happy Mommy Wines.
At Happy Mommy Wines, we are committed to sourcing sustainably farmed fruit from vineyard designates throughout California’s Central Coast.
We are committed to offering well-made, affordable wines to a broad and diverse audience. We trust that our customers have inherently good taste, and we make wines to satisfy their high standards. We believe wine is a beautiful, edible art form that makes life a little more fun, delicious, and memorable.
